Getting Unstuck
Do you sometimes wake up in the morning, ready to conquer the world, but less than an hour into your day people around you have managed to puncture a hole and deflate your enthusiasm?
Does this sound familiar?
Moreover, most of the people who tried to dissuade you, are close friends & relatives, "the ones"you thought, you could rely on the most.
Sitting on the train journeying to London, I recently heard a Mum talking to her son "it is not that I don’t believe in you son ... I am just scared you fail"
"Watch me fly" he responded...
The Mum looked away, tears glinting in her eyes.
People fear for others, as well as themselves, mainly because they do not like to get out of their comfort zone. Many of us are pretty comfortable with our lives.
Good income, plenty of food in the fridge, a nice comfy bed to sleep on, so why should we do anything to change this?
We seem to have established a comfort zone mentally in our lives. Coasting along seems to be the answer to everything, and why not? After all, we have all worked hard to get where we are today and it may seem a very good place to be. The problem is that once we stop reaching, stretching, seeking and risking we actually stop growing.
So what are you going to do today that will take you out of your comfort zone?
It doesn’t have to be much...
Why not trying something new?
Today I bought a green vitamin power smoothie, instead of the usual blue super food one that I love, ok that was quite different... but the flavour took me to another dimension.
Why not wear those Red Devil high heels shoes you have been admiring for so long?
It can also be something that means a lot more for us:
A client of mine has recently emailed me after we had been working together on her personal fears of driving on motorways and swimming in deep water.
After using my Power 3 techniques (Affirmation, Visualisation and Self- belief) she managed to overcome her fears. Although it is still work in progress, she states that she was "way out of her comfort zone and managed something she wouldn’t have previously done".
Life begins at the end of our comfort zone, it enables us to grow and reach higher than we have ever imagined.
If we want to become the master of our own destiny let’s take the bull by its horns and continue to work on our own fears and demons that tend to hold us back.
Are you ready to step outside of your comfort zone?
